The Hawker Pacific Hangar is a showcase of the true strength of s2 post-tensioned steel design and technology.

Far North Queensland experiences Category 4 and 5 cyclones and the hangar is designed to withstand enourmous wind forces.

Only months after completion, Category 4 rated Tropical Cyclone Larry made land about 90km south of Cairns and caused nearly AUD$1b damage in the region with wind gusts up to 240kph.  Gusts well over 100kph were measured at Cairns Airport, but the hangar remained strong and true just as it was designed to do.

Hawker Pacific is secure in the knowledge that not only do they operate out of a highly efficient hangar space; it has the strength to withstand the true force of mother nature.
